Alcohol and drugs are a fact of life in Edinburgh.

People of all ages choose to drink, regardless of whether they are under age or not. Some drink in a way that is damaging to themselves and others.

Other people use drugs that are illegal. Some users develop serious problems as a result of their drug use.

Edinburgh Alcohol & Drug Partnership replaced the Edinburgh Alcohol and Drug Team and has been in operations since October 2009 bringing together multiple agencies to tackle the increasing challenges of alcohol and drug misuse.

It brings together the city's key bodies that deal with the different aspects of alcohol and drugs misuse. We allocate funding to agencies offering treatment and rehabilitation. Through this, we ensure that there are no gaps or overlaps in helping people with substance misuse problems.

We want people to know the facts and consequences. And we want people to reduce harm to themselves and others if they do drink or take drugs.

This website provides a directory of all alcohol and drugs agencies in the city. It also provides information for parents and carers, professionals and employers who wish to know more.

We are keen to hear how you find this website, so please do fill in the feedback form and let us know.
